Back in Japan

I manage to get a last minute trip to visit family at home, so I jumped on a plane. I got to eat a lot of my favorite foods and I came to a realization. I don't like fast food. I ate it because it was convenient, but every time I did, I felt awful. It probably won't stop me from doing it occasionally, but I'm going to put in a real effort to not have to settle for that crappy food.

I made pesto for dinner last night. I wish the basil hadn't cost me $8. I kept some of the stems of the basil with some baby leaves on them, maybe I can get them to grow a little and I can plant them and get some basil for free. I'm going to try and make some classic chocolate chip cookies for the guests coming over this weekend. I promised to make Mami mashed potatoes the next time she came by, so I'll have to come up with a menu that includes that. We'll see what I come up with.
